Dr M. Sana Ullah Sahar is an accomplished academic and researcher currently serving as Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Sargodha, Pakistan. With over a decade of diverse experience across research, teaching, and academic leadership, Dr Sahar’s career is distinguished by a multidisciplinary focus spanning biomedical engineering, additive manufacturing, materials science, and engineering design.
Dr Sahar earned his PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Griffith University, Australia, under prestigious international scholarships and research grants. He holds an MS in Mechanical Engineering from Yeungnam University, South Korea, and a BSc in Mechanical Engineering from Bahauddin Zakariya University, Pakistan. His doctoral work introduced pioneering strategies for nerve regeneration using negative pressure and mechanical stimulation, contributing novel insights to the field of medical device development.
He is a recipient of multiple competitive international awards, including the Australian Postgraduate Research Scholarship, International Postgraduate Scholarship, and funding from the Australian Orthopaedic Association and Queensland Hand Surgery Society. In Pakistan, his research has been funded by IGNITE and KFUEIT, focusing on the development of portable ventilators and health monitoring systems to strengthen national healthcare infrastructure.
Dr Sahar has published over 30+ journal articles in high-impact factor journals (total impact factor >83), in addition to several book chapters and numerous conference proceedings. His research interests include biomaterials, implant design, stress-tolerant perovskite oxides, cryogenic machining, and digital manufacturing, with a strong foundation in DFT-based computational materials science.
