UoS to Host All Pakistan Universities Football Championship from May 7

The University of Sargodha (UoS) will host the All-Pakistan Universities Football Championship 2025–26, with a colourful opening ceremony scheduled to be held on May 7 at the university’s football ground.
Chairman of the Higher Education Commission (HEC), Prof. Dr. Niaz Ahmed Akhtar (Sitara-i-Imtiaz), will grace the occasion as chief guest.
According to the Directorate of Sports, the Higher Education Commission has entrusted UoS with hosting rights for the national-level championship. The tournament will formally commence on May 7 and will feature participation from more than 20 universities from across the country.
Officials said that all necessary arrangements have been finalised to ensure the smooth and successful conduct of the event.
As part of the opening ceremony, friendly tug-of-war contests among teaching faculties will also be held, adding to the festivities.
The closing ceremony of the championship will take place on May 11 at the university’s multipurpose hall. Minister of State for National Health Services, Dr. Malik Mukhtar Ahmad Bharath, will attend the ceremony as chief guest.
