UoS hosts Kashmir Solidarity literary contests to mark Youm-e-Istehsal-e-Kashmir

The University of Sargodha observed Youm-e-Istehsal-e-Kashmir by organising a series of events, beginning with interdepartmental literary competitions arranged by the Riaz Shad Co-Curricular Forum.
The opening contests featured speech competitions on the themes "Yaraan-e-Jahan Kehte Hain Kashmir Hai Jannat" and "Watan Ki Matti Gawah Rehna". The performances were adjudicated by Muhammad Usman, In-charge Public Relations and Publications, and Muhammad Ilyas Gondal, Lecturer at the Department of Punjabi.
Addressing the concluding ceremony, Director of the Riaz Shad Co-Curricular Forum Dr Muneer Gujjar highlighted the significance of Youm-e-Istehsal-e-Kashmir and urged students to use literary and academic platforms to express their views on national issues. He also briefed participants on effective writing techniques and public speaking skills.
Assistant Director of the Riaz Shad Co-Curricular Forum Daim Iqbal and forum coordinator Ghalib Shah also addressed the ceremony.
According to the results, Farhan Ali of the Department of Islamic Studies secured third position, Ayesha Fatima of the Department of English stood second, while Maryam Jameela of the Department of Chemistry won first position.
The university said the Youm-e-Istehsal-e-Kashmir activities would continue until August 5, 2026 and include essay writing, national songs and quiz competitions.
