UoS holds rally, seminar to mark anniversary of Marka-e-Haq Bunyān-un-Marsoos

University of Sargodha organised a rally, seminar and flag-hoisting ceremony to mark Youm-e-Tashakkur and celebrate the first anniversary of “Marka-e-Haq Bunyān-un-Marsoos”, paying tribute to the armed forces for ensuring Pakistan’s historic victory against India.

Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Qaisar Abbas inaugurated the ceremony by hoisting the national flag, while special prayers were offered for the country’s security, stability and prosperity.

A solidarity rally led by the vice chancellor started from the Administrative Block and concluded at Library Chowk. Pro Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Masood Sarwar Awan, Registrar Waqar Ahmed, Dean Faculty of Sciences Prof. Dr. Amir Ali, Dean Faculty of Pharmacy Prof. Dr. Usman Minhas, heads of departments, faculty members, staff and a large number of students participated in the walk, chanting slogans in support of Pakistan and its armed forces.

Addressing the participants, Prof. Dr. Qaisar Abbas said the nation remained proud of the professionalism and bravery demonstrated by the armed forces during last year’s conflict with India. He said the armed forces had defended the country with courage and determination, earning the gratitude of the entire nation.

He also highlighted Sargodha’s strategic importance in the country’s defence and said the city had a longstanding history of resilience in times of conflict. He urged students to contribute towards the country’s development, stability and national unity in every possible capacity.

Separately, the Directorate of Student Affairs, Department of History and Pakistan Studies, and Department of International Relations organised an awareness seminar on the Marka-e-Haq. Chairperson Department of History and Pakistan Studies Dr. Abrar Zahoor, Chairperson Department of International Relations Prof. Dr. Ashfaq Ahmed, Political Science faculty member Dr. Muhammad Azam and Director Student Affairs Dr. Mahmoodul Hassan Awan attended the seminar.  Speakers discussed the background of Pakistan-India tensions, the role of the armed forces and future regional challenges.
