Two teams from the University of Sargodha (UoS) secured first and third positions in the divisional essay writing competition organised by the Punjab Higher Education Commission (PHEC) at the University of Mianwali as part of celebrations marking 75 years of Pakistan-China diplomatic relations.
UoS Team A won the first position, while Team B secured third position. A team from the University of Mianwali stood second.
The two UoS teams, comprising two students each, were selected through an internal essay writing competition in which 185 students had registered. They represented the university at the divisional-level contest held at the University of Mianwali.
Two teams each from UoS and the University of Mianwali took part in the divisional competition. The topic was given to participants at the venue, and they were allowed one and a half hours to complete their essays.
A jury from the University of Mianwali evaluated the entries on relevance to the topic, quality of arguments, analytical approach, originality, and organisation and language.
The competition was held to provide students an opportunity to demonstrate their writing, analytical and critical-thinking skills while engaging with themes related to Pakistan-China relations.
