UoS Students Donate Blood to Support Thalassemia Patients

The Directorate of Student Affairs, in collaboration with Safe Life Thalassemia Center, organized a blood donation camp at the University of Sargodha where students donated more than 50 bottles of blood to support thalassemia patients.
The camp was inaugurated by Prof. Dr. Masood Sarwar Awan, Pro Vice Chancellor of the University of Sargodha. The event was attended by Dr. Mahmood-ul-Hasan, Director Student Affairs, faculty members, staff, and a large number of students.
Addressing the participants, Prof. Dr. Masood Sarwar Awan emphasized the importance of voluntary blood donation, stating that the lives of thalassemia patients depend on such humanitarian contributions.
He appreciated the students’ enthusiasm and said that donating blood is not only an act of saving lives but also a means of promoting compassion, empathy, and social responsibility among youth.
The Pro VC further remarked that the youth can play a pivotal role in building a caring and responsible society by actively participating in such noble causes.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Mahmood-ul-Hasan said that organizing socially beneficial activities is part of the University of Sargodha’s vision, and such initiatives will continue in the future as well.
