The Institute of Art and Design (IAD), University of Sargodha, inaugurated a three-day BS Textile Design Thesis Exhibition 2026 showcasing the creative work of final-year textile design students.
The exhibition, featuring thesis projects of 38 students of the final semester, was inaugurated by Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Qaisar Abbas, while Dean Faculty of Arts and Humanities Prof Dr Shamshad Ahmad attended as guest of honour.
Organised by the Institute of Art and Design, the exhibition presents a diverse range of textile products and design concepts developed by students under the supervision of the institute’s textile faculty. The displayed work includes textile printing, weaving, embroidery, appliqué and other contemporary design applications reflecting current industry trends.
Speaking on the occasion, Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Qaisar Abbas appreciated the creativity and professional skills demonstrated by the students. He said such exhibitions provide an effective platform for young designers to showcase their talent and connect academic learning with industry requirements.
The exhibition attracted designers, industrial representatives and academic experts who reviewed the students’ work and interacted with participants regarding emerging opportunities in the textile sector.
A number of visitors from technical and vocational training institutions also attended the event and appreciated the quality and innovation reflected in the displayed projects.
The exhibition will continue for three days and remains open to students, industry professionals and the general public.
