Celebrations continued on the second day of the 12th Convocation of the University of Sargodha (UoS) as degrees were conferred upon graduates from various faculties.
The academic procession was led by Member Punjab Assembly, Parliamentary Secretary Livestock & Dairy Development and Member Syndicate, Mr. Asim Sher Maken, along with Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Qaisar Abbas. The procession included the Pro Vice Chancellor, Registrar, Controller of Examinations, Deans, Directors, and Heads of Departments.
Degrees were awarded to students from the Faculty of Agriculture, Faculty of Arts and Humanities, Faculty of Computing and Information Technology, and Faculty of Engineering and Technology, marking a memorable occasion for graduates and their families.
In his opening address, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Qaisar Abbas highlighted the University’s academic and developmental progress. He informed the audience about key initiatives, including the establishment of an international campus in China and a teaching hospital, and soughted support from the Government of Punjab for these projects. He also emphasized strengthening academia–industry linkages and the role of universities in policy brief development to support evidence-based decision-making at the national level. Stressing youth development, he urged graduates to focus on skills, innovation, moral values, and respect for institutions, teachers, and parents.
Addressing the convocation, Mr. Asim Sher Maken congratulated the Vice Chancellor and his team on the successful conduct of the convocation. He appreciated the University’s achievements and assured full support from the Government of Punjab for its future academic and developmental initiatives, reaffirming the government’s commitment to strengthening higher education institutions.
