University of Sargodha Hosts Special Session on "Exchange Program & Research Collaboration with China"

The Department of Communication and Media Studies, University of Sargodha, organized a special session titled "Exchange Program & Research Collaboration with China", aimed at exploring academic opportunities and enhancing institutional ties with Chinese universities.
The session was convened by Prof. Dr. Tahir Mumtaz Awan, Director of the Pakistan Institute of China Studies, and attended by a large number of faculty members, researchers, and students. In his opening remarks, the Chairman of the Department of Communication and Media Studies Dr. Mudassar Hussain Shah highlighted that the University of Sargodha, under the visionary leadership of Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Qaiser Abbas, has signed 28 Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with leading Chinese institutions. He further noted that the university is now an official member of the CPEC Consortium of Universities, underscoring the importance of proactive engagement by academic departments to leverage these global opportunities.
During the session, Prof. Dr. Tahir Mumtaz Awan shed light on key dimensions of academic and research collaboration between Pakistan and China. He emphasized the significance of forming partnerships with top-tier Chinese universities to elevate research quality, promote joint scholarly initiatives, and create international exposure for students and faculty.
He also encouraged departments across the University of Sargodha to actively pursue these collaborations. In particular, he recommended that UOS TV and UOS Radio seek partnerships with Chinese media organizations to exchange knowledge, content, and media expertise.
The session concluded with a consensus that such initiatives play a vital role in deepening educational cooperation between the two nations and open new avenues for innovation, cultural exchange, and academic excellence.
