RPO Sargodha Visits University of Sargodha; MoU Signed for Academic Collaboration

Regional Police Officer (RPO) Sargodha, Muhammad Shehzad Asif Khan, along with senior police officers, paid a special visit to the University of Sargodha and signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote academic and professional cooperation.
Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Qaisar Abbas briefed the RPO and his team on the University’s ongoing academic, research, and infrastructural projects. Pro Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Masood Sarwar Awan, SSP Regional Investigation Branch Azhar Yaqoob, ADIG Muhammad Tariq Malik, Principal Educator Police Public High School Qurat-ul-Ain, Registrar Waqar Ahmad, Director ORIC Prof. Dr. Ahmad Raza Bilal, Director Academics Dr. Uzma Shahzadi, and Public Relations Officer Sargodha Police Abid Hussain were also present on the occasion.
Speaking at the event, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Qaisar Abbas highlighted that over 25,000 students are currently enrolled at the University of Sargodha. He emphasized that faculty members are dedicated to equipping students with modern skills aligned with market demands, aiming to produce competent, skilled, and responsible citizens. He added that the University has established advanced research centers, upgraded libraries, and developed excellent facilities for co-curricular activities to nurture holistic learning.
RPO Muhammad Shehzad Asif Khan praised the University of Sargodha as the leading educational institution of the region, describing it as a “bright star on the academic horizon.” He lauded the Vice Chancellor’s visionary leadership, which has led the University to secure a position in the HEC’s X category, reflecting its growing academic and research excellence.
Commending the University’s peaceful and politics-free environment, the RPO said that the discipline of students, their academic enthusiasm, and strong administrative policies are a source of pride for the region. He assured full cooperation and partnership from the Police Department, stating that the police would continue to seek guidance from the University in both academic and practical domains.
During the visit, a formal MoU signing ceremony was held between the University’s Institute of Education and the Sargodha Police Department. The agreement was signed by Dr. Muhammad Uzair-ul-Hassan, Director Institute of Education, on behalf of the University of Sargodha, and Qurat-ul-Ain Ashraf Laghari on behalf of Educator Police High School.
Under the agreement, the University will provide academic support and teacher training to the school, while faculty members will offer teaching assistance and professional development sessions for the school staff.
The RPO also visited several University facilities including the University Gym, Cafeteria, Incubation Center, Wazir Agha Library, and the University TV Studio. He congratulated the Vice Chancellor and the administration for launching innovative projects and successfully executing them for institutional advancement.
