The University of Sargodha (UoS) hosted its 12th Convocation, conferring a total of 18,369 degrees among graduates from eight faculties, marking another significant milestone in the institution’s academic journey.
The event was presided over by the Governor of Punjab and Chancellor, Sardar Saleem Haider Khan, along with the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Qaisar Abbas. The convocation commenced in a ceremonial manner with the entrance of the academic procession, comprising the Chancellor, Vice Chancellor, Pro Vice Chancellor, Registrar, Controller of Examinations, Deans of the eight faculties, Heads of Departments, and Directors.
The degrees conferred included 105 PhD, 696 MS/MPhil/LLM, 1,911 MA/MSc, 6,712 BS/BBA, and 8,945 BA/BSc degrees, awarded to students from the faculties of Agriculture; Arts and Humanities; Computing and Information Technology; Engineering and Technology; Medical and Allied Health Sciences; Pharmacy; Sciences; and Social Sciences.
In his opening remarks, Prof. Dr. Qaisar Abbas briefed the Chancellor on the University’s academic and developmental progress, highlighting improvements in international rankings, academic excellence, and research productivity. He emphasized UoS’s commitment to producing skilled graduates capable of meeting national and global workforce demands, underscoring ongoing efforts to strengthen quality education, innovation, and institutional growth.
Addressing the convocation, Governor of Punjab Sardar Saleem Haider Khan expressed his satisfaction with the remarkable progress of the University of Sargodha under the dynamic leadership of Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Qaisar Abbas. He appreciated the University’s strategic vision, institutional reforms, and academic achievements, describing UoS as a model that other public sector universities should follow.
The Governor lauded the collective efforts of the Vice Chancellor and his team, stating that their dedication and commitment have significantly strengthened the institution. Emphasizing the importance of strong institutions, he underscored the need for collective efforts to further strengthen national institutions and reaffirmed that serving the country must remain a shared priority.
The convocation concluded on a celebratory note as graduating students shared their joy and sense of achievement with their parents and teachers.
