Dr. Ghulam Murtaza Rafique holds the position of Assistant Professor at the Department of Information Management, University of Sargodha. He obtained his Ph.D. in Information Management, formerly known as Library and Information Science, from the Institute of Information Management at the University of the Punjab, Lahore. Prior to his current role, he worked as a librarian at the Government Punjab Public Library in Lahore, which is the largest and oldest public library in the country and The University of Lahore. Dr. Rafique has authored over 20 research articles and has participated in numerous national and international conferences. He has also conducted 23 workshops and seminars, acting as a resource person and co-resource person, to enhance the skills of library professionals and research scholars in Pakistan. Additionally, he has provided training to over 500 university faculty members and library professionals through both on-site sessions and online webinars. Dr. Rafique is a member of various professional associations, including the American Library Association (ALA), the Association for Information Science and Technology (ASIS&T), the Punjab University Library & Information Science Alumni Association (PULISAA), the Pakistan Library Association (PLA), the Pakistan Librarians Welfare Organization (PLWO), and the Institute of Research Promotion (IRP). He has also traveled to the United States of America, where he visited more than 40 American libraries. In recognition of his contributions, he received the ASIS&T InfoShare Award in 2018.
