Dr. Zafar Hayat is currently serving as Professor & Chairman, Department of Animal Sciences, as well as Principal of College of Agriculture, University of Sargodha. He graduated from University of Agriculture, Faisalabad in 1994 and did M.Sc. (Hons.) Animal Nutrition in 1996 from the same University. During his PhD at University of Veterinary & Animal Sciences, Lahore, he got fellowship to conduct research at Oregon State University, USA. He published many research papers in reputed international journals by linking the poultry nutrition and bioactive compounds particularly omega-3 enrichment of eggs with human food chain. He has been recognized internationally for his research and visited UK, USA, Italy, Germany, Finland, Czech Republic, Hungary, China, Saudi Arabia and Singapore to conduct research, present papers and knowledge exchange. He had also served as a Professor & Chairman of the Department of Animal Sciences at Jhang campus of University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Lahore. Currently, he is involved in several projects including the international collaborative research project with total worth of 2.8 million Canadian dollars funded by the International Development Research Center (IDRC), Canada as project leader.
