UoS signs MoU with Kazakhstan's Inclusive Development Foundation, COMSTECH

The University of Sargodha (UoS) has taken a giant stride towards international cooperation by signing an intent of cooperation agreement with Kazakhstan's Inclusive Development Foundation (IDF) and the Ministerial Standing Committee on Scientific and Technological Cooperation of the OIC (COMSTECH). The agreement aims to foster scientific, technological, and educational support programs between UoS and Kazakhstan universities, strengthening ties and promoting exchange between faculties, staff, and students.

The agreement was signed by the Vice Chancellor UoS Prof. Dr. Qaisar Abbas and Head of G-Global International Secretariat, Head of Nobel Fest Organizing Committee, Dr. Serik N. Nugerbekov. The signing ceremony, witnessed the presence of distinguished guests, including the deputy head of Nobel Fest organizing committee, Mr. Nurbek Achilov, Focal Person COMSTECH Mr Haris Akram, and senior administrative and academic staff of the UoS.

The intent of cooperation agreement signed between UoS, IDF, and COMSTECH seeks to enhance academic collaboration, research partnerships, and the sharing of innovative ideas. It is expected to serve as a stepping stone towards building stronger academic bridges between Pakistan and Kazakhstan.

Dr. Serik N. Nugerbekov shared insights about the Inclusive Development Foundation of Kazakhstan, which is spearheading the Nobel Fest. The foundation, in collaboration with COMSTECH, is planning to organize Nobel Fest in Islamabad on November 29-30, 2023. The fest aims to facilitate an independent and open dialogue on inclusive policies, focusing on vital areas such as economics, finance, technology and innovation, education, social development, and climate change. The event is expected to attract participation from OIC's 57 member countries, with their ministers of science and technology attending.

Expressing his gratitude towards the visiting delegation, Prof. Dr. Qaisar Abbas, the Vice Chancellor of UoS, highlighted the university's academic and developmental achievements. He emphasized the institution's commitment to fostering academic excellence and research collaborations.

The VC further said “We have taken a lead role in promoting an exchange of knowledge and ideas on a global stage. This partnership will pave the way for a diverse and inclusive approach to tackle the most pressing challenges of our time.”
